Probability, with the assumptions attached
WHAT ARE
YOUR ODDS?
The official Pirate Shop Token drop rate is unknown. Use this calculator to explore a scenario, not a confirmed game mechanic.
Chance of at least one drop
Under the 1-in-700,000 assumption, after 1,000 chests.
Not a guarantee. Even reaching the 50% chest count leaves a 50% chance of no drop under this model.
What the calculator actually assumes
Each chest is modeled as an independent attempt with the same fixed probability. We do not know whether Fortnite uses that system for Pirate Shop Access, whether the prize pool changes, or whether other limits apply. The result is a mathematical illustration.
The formula is 1 − (1 − p)ⁿ, where p is the assumed chance per chest and n is the total chest count. Match estimates divide that count by the number you expect to open per game, rounded up.
Why “1 in 700,000” is not a target
Some coverage cites this estimate, but we have not located an Epic-published probability. Even if it were accurate, opening 700,000 independent chests would yield about a 63.2% chance of at least one drop, not certainty. Earlier misses would not make the next independent roll more likely.
What would make an estimate trustworthy?
A community estimate needs the full number of eligible chests opened, including non-winners, plus consistent mode, date and eligibility information. Winning screenshots alone leave out that denominator. Until reliable data exists, we will not display a fake community tracker or a “live” rate.
